It would be great to have a searchable world map with all isolated wild strains of Caenorhabditis (JB Pénigault and MA Félix are working on one). Please submit your wild strain information using the format indicated at Wormbase (http://tazendra.caltech.edu/~azurebrd/cgi-bin/forms/wild_isolate.cgi) by e-mailing the information in a table to genenames@wormbase.org (Wormbase), copying to felix@biologie.ens.fr for the world map website (to be announced) and to david.fitch@nyu.edu  for integration in the Rhabditina database (see above).

For now: if you look for information on geographic distribution, sample origin and availability, enter the strain name in [http://www.wormbase.org/ Wormbase], for example [http://www.wormbase.org/species/c_brenneri/strain/NIC42?query=NIC#02--10 NIC42]

or consult the following strain databases:

WELCOME to the wiki of the Caenorhabditis evolution community!

With a growing community of scientists using Caenorhabditis nematodes for evolutionary biology and ecology, this wiki aims to informally share resources and information regarding the evolution of C. elegans and other species of the Caenorhabditis genus. This wiki is not part of Wormbase per se and cannot be cited as such. Much of the information on this wiki is unpublished.

Please contribute! (you need to register first, independently of your Wormbase account)

Relevant WORMBOOK sections:
Evolution and Ecology
Nematodes other than C. elegans
Methods for nematode species other than C. elegans
Here is the growing LIST OF AVAILABLE CAENORHABDITIS SPECIES and the state of their genome projects.
Note the new species names.
For information on phylogeny and systematics: Fitch lab Rhabditina DB.
